1989 Buick Park Avenue problem?

My Buick makes a tumult that concerns me as well as embarasses me! LOL! When I first start it up, it make this high-pitched commotion that make me reflect of two loud birds chirping one a little smaller quantity loud than the other, in other words, the echo is up-and-down in volume, contained by the same track some sirens are. SHREE-shree-SHREE-shree......It does this even before I start driving, but the faster I move about, the faster the noise is. As the vehicle is driven and warms up somewhat, the crash gets poorer and lesser.
I took it to my mechanic and he thought it be a bearing surrounded by the alternator. When he would stick his long screwdriver against certain areas of the alternator, the din would sometimes lessen. So he replaced the alternator. He also put a new power steering pump on it and the "idler-tensioner"---I have a sneaking suspicion that it's something to do with the power steering belt? Anyway, after adjectives of this, the noise is merely as bad as ever, save actually worse! The mechanic is trustworthy but I compensated for unneeded work, I feel!
