1994 BMW 740i - How do I DISARM my antitheft device?

I just replaced the battery-operated on my 1994 BMW 740i, but apparently by doing so I armed (somehow) the anti-theft device. Now, it cranks, but does not start. Electronic locks do not work, the radio does not work and the power windows do not work. I be told by my mechanic (who is far!), to lock and unlock the doors with the switch several times. Unfortunately, I guess I don’t have my coded knob, because again, the electronic locks don’t work - maybe I hold just the valet push button. This key does however work on the trunk lock, but typically the trunk also unlocks the passenger doors and that is not up anymore. This morning I left the battery-operated cable off of it surrounded by the hopes that it would reset and that I could get it to my mechanic, but contained by case that doesn’t crop up, does anyone know how to otherwise disable the antitheft device? Mechanic said he could come by, but not until Saturday, and I have my vehicle sitting in front of my house :o(
