1996 taurus near rusted brake lines, what is the best style to fix?

I have hear it is a nightmere to find replacement break lines for these cars, most people conclusion up bending, shaping, making their own. I have not hear of anyone taking the brake line of a junker and going that route. To me it seem like a honourable, inexpensive way to run about fixing this sports car that I will be getting ride of in the spring. Otherwise the peddler said it could cost in upwards of 600-700 bucks for them to fix, yikes! Is getting the brake chain off a junker a fruitless idea? What would be the cheapest instrument to fix while avoiding a major headache?

Much gratitude!

Answers:    Odds of getting used lines in much better shape than yours are pretty slim, and getting them out intact can be adjacent to impossible anyway. Its kind of a stomach-ache bending the tubing, but not impossible with a bending tool, leniency and a tape device. Annoying and time consuming, but no special skill or knowledge is required.

As for the seller, pretty much anything will cost you $600 at their labor rates. You might do better at an independent shop.

The best idea is to obtain them off of a junker. Unfortunately, most junkyards will not spend the effort/time to lift them off thoroughly. When I have bought brakes from junkyards, they only just cut the lines. www.car-part.com will help you located junkyards near your vehicle. You will have to phone around to find someone willing to nick the time to disassemble the brake lines though. That was a terribly common motor, have you tried auto parts stores?
