1998 C1500 vortec 5.7 no start?

I have the same prob. starts fine at first and after it warm up will not start. no codes now, in the recent past an o2 sensor would come and go. Fuel pressure is #65, was #85 any time relay be on. I replaced regulator. with #65 fuel it will not start warm, if I furnish it just a small shot of starting fluid, it starts fine w/no stumble. Fuel pressure drops quickly after pump relay let go, but after it is running at idle #65 and beside throttle loss ov intake pressure it will go a little over #85. I be all thru GM techs.
It's gotta be simple, im freaking out. I am a diesel tech of 19 years, gas isn't my strong point.

Answers: a 98 c1500 specs out at 85 on the fuel pressure, i dont think so, start by doing a fuel pressure check and compare it to the specs, it sure isn't 85. What is the fuel pressure key on engine off, is that 85 too? sounds resembling you already identified your problem
