I just purchased my 1998 cavalier three days ago and the check engine standard lamp was already on. The buyer said it wasnt a big deal they forgot to turn it bad when they were replacing something contained by it. When I put my car contained by reverse it acts similar to it clicks or has to "lock" into gear. My vehicle feels approaching its going to die when I go up a steep mount and my accelerator is all the road to the floor and still not gaining speed. When I turn my steering controls it squeals and sounds like its churning. I also necessitate my brakes replaced. I just dont know why my check engine table lamp is on, should I ignore it?
