timing belt was done final week and customer is now complaining that the sports car takes to long for it to start. coup¨¦ is hard to start when u permit it sit for about 10 min or longer it cranks virtuous and takes around 5-7 sec to start up but if u start it everythime after that time it starts right up.any ideas?? i checked the fuel,fuel pressure,timing is not past its sell-by date..
Answers: My friend, you have a classic problem. You changed the timing belt finishing week? Without going into the engineering hum drums, on the Acura, you must also replace the crankshaft pick up sensor. Common problem on these year models. You can also check the cam sensor. This isn't common though. Remember, anytime you do internal engine repairs next to through gears and magnetic pickups, you can hold this potential problem. I am 90 percent sure this is your problem. Once the sensor is back into sync and thaw you re-energize the polar field, thats why it will start better after a long ignition cycle. Hope this help.
