I have a new 08 Camry and the form belt buzzer is out of control. For my job, I spend a carnival amount of time sitting in my car and going surrounded by and out of the car, and just to sit contained by the car you have to enjoy your seat belt on to make the buzzer shut bad. Does anyone know how to disable this?
i have duplicate problem, sorry i don't know how to fix it but i really would like to know.
Answers: Hi,
short answer:
There is no legal, safe mode to disable the buzzer.
full answer:
The buzzer is part of the occupant detection system which:
1. controls and adjust the seat belt pretensioners (small devices that pull you hindmost into the seat to correctly position you for possible airbag deployment if you are in an accident)
2. controls and adjust the force limiters (which lessons the pull on the belt after you are pulled into the correct position to lesson bruising)
3. aid the multistage airbag sensors that control how hulking and with how much force the airbags can go past its sell-by date (depends on how large the occupant is and where on earth they are positioned in the seat contained by relation to the seat and the steering wheel/dash)
The seats themselves enjoy a series of occupant weight/position sensors and these, in combination near the seat belt linkage sensors, is what's causing the buzzing to come about.
The system wants to make sure you stay within your seat in the proper sitting room position (hips against the joint of the lower cushion and the upper cushion, and back flat against the upper cushion) so if here is an accident, you have the best unpredictability of surviving it and walking away.
Check your owner's manual for full details.
Please don't try to just click the seatbelt lower than you to shut off the buzzer. That is as dangerous as not have your seatbelt on at all.
This is just member of what the new, more advanced safety systems are going to be approaching from now on.
