Random Misfire what could impose this?

My wife is a mechanic and she 'diagnosed' the car with our scanner, we've changed lots of parts and the problem is still nearby. I know it would have been cheaper within the long run to take it to a professional but we didn't, so I am out some money and no fix on the car. Any suggestions on what it could be? Thanks

yes a fruitless coil pack will cause a random mis-fire on it,but it wont do it adjectives the time that's what throws so many mechanics off be a foil for,if they would do it all the time they would be a lot easier to diagnose, but that will wreak it,and a scanner wont always show it either, apt luck on it.

Answers:    There are lots of things that could incentive it. As already stated, a bad coil will cause this. But also using fuel that is to say lower octane than recommended, fouled plugs, lots of carbon deposits on your piston, other fuel delivery/fuel management electronics.

Did you swap out the plugs when you were shifting parts? What did the old ones look like? It might be worth your time to verbs them out and shine a flashlight into the cylinder to look at the condition of the piston just to rule out carbon buildup.

If the plugs are anything other than a dull brownish-gray near little or no wear on the electrode, post back here with a description of color and condition.
