In May of 2007 I had extensive work done on a 5.9l 1998, Dodge Turbo Diesel 12 Valve engine, 4x4...
Reseal Vacuum Pump
Install Boost, pyrometer and Trans Temp gauges
Installed Fuel Plate
Installed Fuel Injectors
Cool nouns Induction
Replace Torq Converter, Valve Body, DD Trans Pan
Installed Extra Deep Trans Pan
Replaced Turbo
Extra Exhaust Pipes.
Cost $5,500.00
Today, after taking it back to them with a clatter 'down low in the engine' I am being told the Main bearing are out and the entire lower engine needs to be replaced. Cost Estimate: $7000+
My question is this: When adjectives the the work in May, should they have agreed, checked, heard or looked to even see if the engine was surrounded by good working order until that time doing all the upgrades and repairs?
You didn't own any work done on the lower end so I expect there would enjoy no reason for them to check it out. How many miles does it enjoy on it and how many since the work was done?
There really is no way to check the bottom run out without tearing down the unharmed engine. Sounds like all the upgrades in recent times made what happened..happen sooner. YES!
Ask another shop how much it will cost to receive a same model used engine with installation. And ask how much warranty they will offer. There are lots of worthy engines who come out of cars with rusted bodies and crashed cars.
They come with warranty

Answers: How can you HEAR a noise down low contained by a diesel engine??
This is good one for "Dodge Man". Got your ears on?

What sensor is for the code p0152...
Make sure the torque converter bolts aren't loose. They can construct the same kind of jingle. If you don't have really high mileage and the grease pressure is OK, I wouldn't suspect main bearings. You didn't own any work done on the lower end so I expect there would enjoy no reason for them to check it out.
