Can a spraying river pump devastate the serpentine belt?

If so, shouldn't the warranty that covers the water pump also pay for the investigational belt? The mechanic says the belt needs to be replaced because the antifreeze sprayed over it. But the warranty com[pany say they will only pay for the bright water pump and labor to install it.

What cause intermitent charging.?

The mechanic is covering himself. If he puts on the out-of-date belt it is very likely to squeak and is subject to premature fiasco! If the belt starts squeaking after the water pump job, you (and 98% of the customers contained by the world) will be back complaining about the clap and expecting him to solve the problem for free!

The warranty will only cover the belt if the belt failed as a direct result of the disappointment of the water pump. If the pump had locked up, and the belt have broken, you may have a claim for the cost of the belt. If the warranty does not specifically include it, it usually will not be covered. Belts are considered to be "wear" items, and are not usually covered under extended warranty.

Talk to the mecahnic and see what the cost of replacing the belt will be. He should not charge you as much in labor now as he would to replace the belt separately, because the belt have to be partially removed for the water pump replacement! You should expect to reimburse for the part..

If you choose not to have the belt replaced in a minute, and you have a problem, expect to pay the full price to replace it subsequently. The mechanic, by telling you to replace it now, and you refuse, will be under no warranty obligation for any belt problems.
it shouldnt hurt the belt, but i doubt it that they will clear for a new belt. just be glad they are paying for that much, but after you bring the leak stopped, the belt should dry back out.

Most warranty companies will NOT pay for consequential damages. If the car is mature enough to need a dampen pump then it needs the belt also.

Coolant Leak?

This is nutty. Usually replacing a marine pump necessitates the changing of the belt beside it. It should be included in the job. Cheap "green" anti-freeze can desecrate rubber parts (belts) but only over a lengthy length of time. Something here isn't making sense. What kind of car is this and how ripened is it?

first answer is a good answer. further, anti freeze sprayed on the belt is not going to destruction it. i believe you mechanic is telling you a story. good luck

How to tolerate Valvoline payment my nouns?

Antifreeze wont defile the belt but will make it squeek, but if the belt is old consequently it could need to be replaced. If it only have some antifreeze on it wipe the belt off or put some belt dressing on it.

Answers:    I own 2 Pennzoil 10 Minute Oil Change Centers & have be in business since 1984. If we performed a service & that service wasn't done correctly or cause damage due to faulty parts, any mar would be covered 1 way or the other. You need not tolerate this go, BE NICE. More will get practised with a customer that is person understanding rather than someone that comes within screaming. Somewhere along the line of your situation someone needs to cover your damages that are a DIRECT result of the part/work perform. If these people are worth a salt, they will cover your issue. Now, hold on to in mind if your belt had 50k on it (don't expect a hot cow for a cow that's almost dead.make sense?), you requirement to bend a little, maybe a split of costs. Remember, I'm not maxim that the coolant caused any problems, but IF this situation DID cause problems due to out of order work/parts then something needs to be done. You shouldn't expect something for free & they will smell you out if you are looking to attain them for something they aren't responsible for!
Good Luck!
