I have a 2001 Chev Express 5.7 with 225k miles. Just have the mechanic change the intake manifold gasket. Engine bedside light came on and friend scanned and it read P1345. What is P1345?
Yes, the cam/crank correlation wishes to be set as close to 0 as possible. You need a scan tool to be able to read this parameter. Some generic scan tools won't read this parameter so a GM Tech 2 is recommended. If you don't hold access to a scan tool, you can try loosening the distributor hold down bolt and turning the distributor slightly but some dist. hold downs aren't slotted to allow turning the distributor. In this case, the distributor gear is worn and you'll have to remove the distributor and replace it beside a new one. this is a very adjectives problem on these engines.
That is a crankshaft position sensor/camshaft position sensor correlation code. before doing anything what i would suggest is disconnect the distrustful battery terminal for 10 seconds to reset your computer - consequently see if the check engine light comes on again. good luck

Answers: the cmp retard isn't set to 0 degree, the distibuter needs to be timed correctly, also the distributer gear may be worn
