87' Ford Ranger?

I have a 1987 ford ranger pickup truck next to a 2.9 V6 engine. I am having problems getting fuel to the engine so I assumed it would in recent times be the fuel pump. So I took it out of the gas tank it turns out that the fuel pump works it is newly not getting power. So I replaced the relay and it still did not fix the problem. I am not very obedient with electronics so I be wondering if anyone new how to fix this problem.

Answers:    It could be the inertia switch failing....I've see it happen in the past on these rangers. It could also be that the inertia switch be triggered for some odd principle. Its been a while since I've messed beside them but if memmory serves me correctly on the passenger side floor toward the firewall.....maybe lower than the carpet....you will find the inertia switch. On it is for a time red button....if it presses in consequently it reset and will allow power to the fuel pump. If it doesn't press in afterwards it the inertia switch wasn't triggered. Also make sure that adjectives your grounds are hooked at the battery....I have a hell of a time trying to diagnos one that just have a small ground wire bad the battery and it wasn't getting fuel any. Might be a good hypothesis to check fuses too. Good luck.
