I have a beater truck that in reality is treating me pretty well. Exception mortal the fan belt yodeling it does on startup - it scare the kids and the dog. I replaced the serp belt but on first startup it jumps stale the power steering pulley by one rib, and it doesn't take long to grasp chewed up and squeal like a stuck pig
prev. owner bypassed the A/C and removed the pulley from the compressor. So have to order a belt 3 sizes smaller than spec, and the tension/alignment is past its sell-by date - so it pops off.
So I am looking for a solution. Is here a idler pulley you can buy to replace the one where on earth the A/C was?
appreciation a bunch
Answers: What about a bypass pulley from a Mustang. Lots of general public have them and supply them. If you have a V8 truck it should a short time ago bolt right on.
I'm not sure on Ford trucks but GM does make one. Give your local Ford parts department a appointment. If Ford doesn't maybe they know an aftermarket source.
