My transmission is stuck in park.. Let me explain the problem and if I am lucky someone can narrate me how to fix it. I can move the shifter up and down but it wont catch in any gears, it of late stays in park. The orange dash on the dash indicating what gear it is in moves but when I put it within reverse the engine just revs and wont move, same with D. Any proposal you could give me would be greatly apreciated.
It is either your axles or your transmission is gone. Or your nouns link cable is off. And check your nouns fluid. Sorry :(
Answers: 1st you need to product sure your fluid level is rite. A trans is a big hydrolic pump if the fluid is low the pump is not able to do anything.
Yes you may enjoy a problem with the shift linkage imroperly adjusted (they do come loose over time).
You may enjoy a clogged trans. filter
Or if the transmission has seriously of miles the internal clutch friction wear ,becomes a grey sludge, in the fluid and clogs up spigot bodys (that do the shift actuation) in the bottom of the Transmission.
Transmissions that "break" are taboo in society today.
When really the spout bodys just get clogged.
You can buy a shift upgrade tackle for $60 and clean the valve body while installing the gear.
Bit of a dirty job , but not a hard or pouring one
