I am having a problem with a 94 sentra. The cars motor seem excellent and I would like to keep this saloon. I know a lot about cars and make out how to check fluids and do the usuals, but for some reason this car will not shift out of 1st gear. Its an automatic unsurprisingly. Ive seen this problem posted on the internet before for this specific year. I be wondering if anyone knows what the issue is. Is there some sort of electric component that could be desperate or what. Thanks in advance.
If that does not work I'd have it serviced. It may be sticking.
Have you done a tranny flush lately with a filter adjust?
Answers: First achieve the fluid and filter changed, but DO NOT do a flush because this causes all the trash and refuse that might be in the transmission to come loose and they would bring back taken into the internal parts of the transmission like the valve and then you would need a complete start again so its just best to have the fluid contained by the pan changed and the filter. if this does not help after i would look into the vacuum modulator its fairly cheap and easy to replace. this is the chunk that controls when the transmission shifts: some problems cuased by this part going bleak would be slow shifting, surging,and in some gears no shifting like what you are experiencing. I would not loaf to have this taken care of.
