i have have a slight antifreeze,coolant leak for a while ...i get into an accident closing month. the other driver hit me on the passenger side between the rear tire and the door. i notice after we had parked and be waiting for police to show..that the leak have gotten alot worse!..i bought more.. filled it up and drove it home..when i checked it at home it be empty again.... my dad took a look at it and though it might hold been the wet pump..he changed it and of course that wasnt the problem..he cant find where on earth its coming from and now i cant drive it minus it overheating! i dont know if i should put money into fixing it or just deal in it. any suggestions?
Answers: seems to me if you can see the antifreeze on the ground you can find the bleed with no problem, if it's leak that fast it have to be the radiator or the overflow tank have a crack in it.
For going on for $1.29 you can get what is call a "stop-leak" which is basically a mixture of powderlike particle of aluminum and other things that react and bond to leak. They are made specifically for radiators in automobiles. You can seize them at any auto parts store. Depending on how big/severe your leak is it might be adjectives you need to do. It's at smallest worth a try and much cheaper than the 300 to 500 bucks it will cost for a new radiator to be installed.
