it will allow me to shift into any gear but will not move once there also the reverse lights are in the park position could this problem be associated to my nuetral/park switch as i beat it up pretty bad when pulling the connections loose (i have to drop in a crank kit) i was competent to pull out of the drive way and receive down the road (a total of about 100 ft) before the nouns quit working all together on me

Id check the fluid next make shure the bolts are still in the torque converter, Ive changed an engine since and my helper put the bolts in finger tight.Thay didnt pocket long to fall out .also check the shift linkage it sounds like it not adj right,but that won't stop it from moving.moral luck HAVE A GREAT DAY! If you take a cooler line past its sell-by date the radiator and start the truck (only for a few seconds you can see if the torque converter is turning the pump (but fluid will spray out ) If the pump is working so BE CARFULL!
Answers: Fluid level OK? If so you call for a mechanic to check what you messed up. The neutral safety switch should not agree to you start the engine so this may not be the problem.
