Hi Gang,
My Windstar's heating system does not work, my husband have checked the fuses, we changed the motor blower and nothing. It does not turn on, nada, nought. He even checked the power coming into the controls and there is no electrical signal. Any philosophy? Thanks a bunch (please don't say find a new van, we so do not own that luxury)
Answers: Sounds like a relay go bad. Might check beside Auto Zone or other parts house and see where the relay is at. On one vehicle I had to by slip away the relay for no one could make clear to me where it be, by the time the customer needed it fixed the Ford dealership was closed. I deduce you will find that the hot side of the fuse for the heater motor is insensible. We bypassed the relay by taking a empty fuse spot tally an inline fuse and jumping it to the output for the oven fan motor on the fuse panel. Plug one cessation into the hot point of the spare fuse slot and the other to the line side going to the stove for the heater fuse.
it might be a doomed to failure relay or a bad switch perchance. Try taking it to your local auto part store and articulate what they say... GOOD LUCK
