It has always run great even though it have 195,000 miles on it...I drove it earler today and it was fine, but when I just go to the store and started it up, the motor is now knocking. I thought since it is cold out it would run away once it warmed up but it has not. Is the motor shot?
Could be a slipped timing chain / belt. If so alot cheaper than replacing / rebuilding an engine.
Not as adjectives today, but a build-up of carbon in the combustion chamber can cause problems next to ignition of the fuel air mix and that sounds like knock.
I say start with checking the timing.
It is promising the oil is too thin for some point and it is messing up the timing ... add STP to thicken it some and see if it goes away ... and not what sort of oil was put within ... and maybe what was put contained by the last time if it is on the sheet the probably gave you ...
