Advice on brakes for TrailBlazer?

I have a 2003 Chevy Trailblazer. The brakes on it are crap. I am thinking about replacing adjectives 4 brakes. My question is, what kind of stuff should I be looking for? I want them to be reliable and finishing awhile. Also, I'd like them to be reasonably affordable.

Answers:    There are three deep-seated components you can replace. Cheapest to most expensive:

The pads: You can get pad that offer more 'bite' like metalic or earthen pads. These will contribute to wearing down your rotors faster.

The rotors: if you are experiencing brake 'fade' the gradual loss of braking efficiancy due to overheating, e.g. the more times you stop, the longer it takes respectively time, you can get rotors that are slotted or drilled (or both) this will allow your pads to cool past its sell-by date faster. These will contribute to faster wear of your pads.

The calipers: These are what squeeze your brake pads to the rotors. You probably hold single piston calipers which press one pad to the rotor and causes the caliper to verbs the other pad to the rotor. You can get multiple piston calipers that better distribute the force applied by the brake fluid to the pad.

I would start out by replacing the pads with something that will grip somewhat better.
