ok have be reading about antifreeze and alot of ethnic group say u involve to drain water and afterwards read how much antifreeze to mix with sea and then top up. im struggling to find the car to the garage to bring back this done as it is a very massively cold day and the cooleant point was steamin this morn because of this reaon. anyway mortal not that knowledgable about cars beinga woman an adjectives please can someone explain in lamens lingo of what i need to do (other than stir to a garage). dont know how much antifreeze is already in it and dont know how to report or if it even has any within, and i dont know what colour the liquid is any. would appreciate some help really please, also dont know what concerned of antifreeze to get, i own a renault megane scenic rt 1.6e. thanx
Answers: To be honest with you the strength of the anti freeze is key but its not the end of the world if you hold to much in the coolant. My guidance would be to purchase a can of anti freeze and top up the coolant until the level is at the max stratum on the header tank.
If you are really concerned something like the condition of the coolant when you get a providence make an appointment beside your local garage and ask then to drain, flush and fill the system. This is the best way to do it as anti freeze is notably toxic and needs to disposed of properly.
