I am looking on getting a classic car repainted but I dont want to completely take the sports car apart to do it. I will take off the doors and hood\trunk but I dont want it within a million pieces.
I have been informed in attendance are different ways on removing current paint from a car but sandblasting is not recommended if you dont want to hold apart the entire car.
I also heard that grinding the saloon is a good way to remove paint but it will not completely remove it.
Is within some chemicals that you can rub on the pain so it will peel bad? If so please advise.
Thanks
Well it depends on your car if its a real collectible you should pinch it apart ( interior and motor out). If its just a for fun not a show car later do it the normal way. If its a color exchange it will be more difficult.
I worked at a paint and body shop. Here is what you do go to a shop around lunch find one of the employees that's full of dust. That technique that he knows his body work for cars. Hire him to PRIVATELY prep your car for paint. Then a short time ago hire someone to paint it.
Answers: The chemical you are asking about is available at most auto parts stores, the best selling brand is call Aircraft Paint Remover. It's a semi-liquid that is brushed on to the paint evenly then scraped stale.I normally takes several applications to remove it adjectives.
I might suggest you think this over before doing it because this is a difficult, precarious process. The chemical will hurt you if you breathe any vapors or simply get a small droplet on your skin. It might be best to go address to the painters and ask their opinion because this situation could well backfire in to a financial disaster.
good luck, hope it works out capably
