My BMW 325i (E36, M50 engine) has a misfire at low (under2300rpm) revs, ive taken it to be plugged in and replaced the Lambda sensor as be diagnosed, replaced spark plugs, filters etc, rocker cover gasket (it was leak onto the plugs), its better than it was but still not right, has anyone come across this since? Im thinking maybe Coils, air flow meter, or I don`t know engine position sensor, but to be honest, its an expensive hobby throwing parts at a car on the offchance it might fix it. I've changed fuel to BP super unleaded and its made a marginal difference. anyone got any thinking?
If there have been oil from the rocker cover its possible that one of the coil pack has failed.
Try identify which cylinder is not firing, then remove the coil for that cylinder and swap it over for a cylinder that you know is working.
If the problem goes away, fine. If however the misfire in a minute happens on the cylinder that originally worked before consequently its time to replace the coil.
Ja.
find out what cylinder is misfiring, afterwards swap coils over and see if a different cylinder is missing,if so happy days
prob the coilpack!

Answers: Sounds like a coil breaking down under nouns, common fault.
Most garages should know how to put it on the diagnostic machine and isolate which one is faulty. Cheaper than fitting bits that it doesn`t inevitability.
Check your plugs visually and see if one looks a different colour to the rest.
Pull the coils out and see if there is any visible signs of "tracking out"
