I have a 93 lexus es300. Its burning grease pretty bad, smoke billowing up through the hood, and traceable when stopped at a stoplight. Its not smoking out the exhaust. Ive had this problem for something like 6 months, though it just started getting at a snail`s pace worse, with noticable grease burning smoke. I brought it into a shop, and they told me the problem was the grease pan gasket. They replaced the gasket, but it didnt fix anything. When I look at the engine, in that is very buoyant oil leaching from the top of the engine(oil cap) all the passageway to the bottom. The majority of oil leak is coming from right side of the engine(looks like from the cam seal) and also from the middle of the various. I assume the leakage is probably a combination of problems: stopcock cover gasket, cam/crankshaft seals, possibly stopcock seals? I know for sure its not a team leader gasket problem, and I'm betting that its not something major, but I'm not sure. Anyone else own any ideas on what it could possibly be? What should I replace? Thanks.
Answers: Have you have the oil changed lately? if the rubber seal from the older filter did not come off beside the filter, it would cause a seep.
"U" have 2 flush the engine b/c of blockage some-where[oildoesn't circulate properly] also "U" own 2 replace the "GASKETS" all-over not only oil-pan; also "U" own 2 use a special solution when u change grease & filter 2 stop leakage; the vehicle is "OLD" probably not good keeping, first gaskets & flush engine, then see if it is something else leading; clean-up & sale the coup¨¦.
