Car space heater doesnt work?

Vehicle is 1990 Buick Century(Limited). The fan will blow air, usually starts out cold, but will switch momentarily to stove (but not the comfortably warm air I procure out of my 1993 Oldsmobile Cutlass) before going to useless cold air and I switch it bad. There are no spots or leaks noticeable on the ground. I've see no antifreeze, and the fan kicks on when the engine have been left running for sufficient adequate time. Temp gauge seems to operate. What am I dealing near and can I diagnose/solve it myself?

Which sticky stuff can withstand gasoline?

would first check out the thermostat and if thats okay afterwards i'd look at the heater core, sometimes they develop small leaks or become clogged.
you might involve a new thermostat. I'm sure you checked the antifreeze right? Sounds like the thermostat is desperate that pretty cheap you could put it in yourself depending on where it is located. The most expensive slice is labor only if it is hard to catch to

if you haven't had your coolant system flushed this would be a apt time to do so. make sure that they change the thermostat at equal time (they usually do). a hundred bucks is not all that much to keep your ride running great.

What would it cost to replace the...

In addition to stuck open thermostat, first check vaccum spigot near firewall. It opens to tolerate water into heater core. If stopcock stuck or vaccum leaking valve doesn't unfold and let in hot sea. It bypasses heater core.

Answers:    Sounds like you have a 'blend motor' problem or a problem next to the components that control the system.

When you select 'hot' air (or a combination to get warm), there's a 'flapper door' that redirect air either through the oven core (where it is heated before it enters the passenger compartment). When you select 'cold', the door diverts nouns away from the heater core and then fresh nouns (or air off the ac coils) can afterwards enter the passenger compartment. And you can adjust 'in between' for warm nouns where it blends air from the furnace core and fresh air.

Sometimes that 'door' is controlled by a cable to the lever on your dashboard controls, and in other cases, it is electronically controlled.

Check and see if your A/C works OK. Start the motor, turn on the AC to COLD. You should have cold air, right? Now slide the roast lever over to HOT (with the AC on) and you should notice a change surrounded by temp. If you do not, you have a problem with the door that diverts nouns. You will have to take it to a qualified mechanic or provider to get it fixed as it may involve removing the dash to find to it. If it's electronically controlled, that may only involve replacing a fuse or fixing a control board somwhere. It's different for different vehicles.

2004 Trailblazer Paint Code?

Two things to check. Pull the Hot/Cold control knob bad the console and make sure the stem is not cracked. If it is, its not turning the control shaft, and you'll need to replace it. Second would be to replace the thermostat. If the vehicle starts cold and allows the cold water to flow through the whole system because the thermostat is stuck undo, you'll either never get truly hot nouns or it will take forever to get truly hot nouns.
Many cars have electronic HVAC controls that use servo motors to control the heat door. Could be any the controller (the box in the dash beside the heat/ventilation/ac conrols on the front, or a problem with the servo motor.
