I have a 96 Saturn SL2, it is very well loved, I'm starting to replace little things on it as it has 126,000 on it. Ok, within the last few weeks, I've notice the coolant gage getting too close to the red over heat blemish. I popped the hood with the motor running and the fan be blowing really good. Now, when I'm driving and stopped sometimes the vehicle will shutter or"burp" a bit and the gage jumps up. When I start to drive it does walk down but not like it should. So today I notice a lot of anti-freeze/coolant leak out in small pools lower than the car. I popped the hood and the smell of coolant be everywere. There were splashes of ginger around inside the hood. I'm taking it in tomorrow, but I be wondering what to expect when I take it in---I other feel close to an idiot when I hae car trouble. Isit a hose or strange thermostat or radiaitor or all of the above? Also, if anyone could explain to me the ball park integer I'm looking at to get it fixed. With rent, student loans and the similar to it's a tight month!
Answers: you could either own a bad marine pump or a hose leaking on it,and the thermostat could be adding together to these problems by not opening when it should,it sounds more resembling a hose or the pump on that one,there's no way to amount a price on this though without knowing a incentive for it,good luck.
