PLEASE HELP ME! iv just brough a sat nav for my saloon and just realised that my car doesnt hold a cigarette lighter to charge it up and my sat nav only final 3 hours fully charged! my car doesnt seem to enjoy been made with because near are no wires to suggest thet there ever was one so i cant freshly pop to halford and buy a cigarette lighter and pop it in myself so! my car is a 1.1 P Reg ford fiesta! what can i do? Buy a socket of competence,30 amp fuse with a breaker.
Buy electrical wire and connectors suitable to amp rating.Mount the switch.Secure ground cable to a metal surface..under the carpet is best..weigh up,cut and secure the ''hot'' wire to the fuse box by inserting the running out of the wire into the slot along with the fuse.
Locate a 30 amp fuse contained by the underdash box-preferably the interior lights fuse and then (don't forget which spot it is)
It is now wired direct to your mobile...you plug in and it works,and you should know that if you leave a charger etc.on it minus the car running,you will drain the battery.
