i havent been competent to get my vehicle to start for two days. the engine does not turn over at all. the battery-operated light on the display/dash board lights up but the i can turn the lights on..so the battery-operated doesnt see to be dead. i own been have this problem on and off for a while in a minute. i have took my sports car to the shop 5 to 6 weeks ago for the same problem and they told me nought was wrong near my car. they run a diagnostic test on everything related to why the coup¨¦ wouldnt start. they told me that the battery be defective, but i dont see how that could be when i just bought that freestyle two weeks prior to me taking the car to the shop, because i be having the exact same problem. so going on for 8 or 9 weeks ago my car be doing the same point, and i went out and bought a mobile immediately bc i thought that be the problem. anyways when i took the battery rear legs to where i bought it from they told me it wasnt defective..and that it purely needed to be charged. when i went rear to the shop....
Assuming it is not the key it sounds approaching an electrical problem (of course). The starting system of a car is simple and with the sole purpose a few things can really go wrong. The mobile goes to ground and the starter.
I would start by checking the mobile and making sure it is good. If it get drained that can kill it. Check the connections and build sure they are good. If the battery-operated is good -
Check fuses (not feasible the problem)
I would then check the solenoid which is expected connected to the starter. If it is bad it will usually newly click once when you try to start the car and the sports car does not turn over. The best way to check this is to enjoy your boyfriend replace it. If you replace the solenoid you should replace the starter. (good maintenance practice) If you don't hold the money changing freshly the solenoid is ok.
What kind of coup¨¦ is it? You may have a retract on it or a Technical Service Bulletin issued for it and the mechanic did not know about it. Its 1 possibility. You can check for Technical Service Bulletins here

Good Luck
Answers: sadly sounds similar to a dealership issue...if you've had the other systems checked (alternator, starter, etc) and you've be told it's your key...simply brace yourself- the repair can be very expensive...I have to have my motor re-keyed and it cost 1200.
Good luck!
I dont know if the neon has this but Fords do. The inventive key have a chip built into it so no one can start it lacking that key. A sort of anti pocketing device. Also your ecm may be going bad or own a bad or loose nouns. ECM meaning the cars computor.
