my car is a 2006 model so it's relatively unusual. i found a few small chips here and there so i ordered some touch up paint from the pusher. but there is this one chip on the front door guard (looks similar to the door must have bang onto something) that goes rather deep and you could touch the metal. this chip is tiny though, less than 1mm contained by diameter. should i take my vehicle to the wash previously the touch up paint arrives? would the touch up paint stay on if i get a wax for the motor first?
i mean i love this motor so i would do anything to keep it from rusting because of a small chip similar to this.
please help me!
Answers: Wash it, yes. No wax. The touchup paint will not stick to wax. Once you wipe the car, kind sure the chipped areas are dry. Use a soft cloth to remove any moisture. Apply the touchup paint and let it dry for a light of day or so. Then rewash the car and apply wax.
