Okay.. so I have a 2002 BMW M3 with 30,000 miles on it. My backside right tire, or in the vicinity of that... I hear a loud grinding jingle when driving FORWARD. It seems rotational too... i.e. a sound of... grind..grind...SCREETCH..grind..grind... similar to it happens at a certain point of rotation. I looked physically at the tire and rotor and nought seems out of place. When the vehicle is in reverse, the car and that nouns are perfectly quiet. It is most evident in 1st and 2nd gear between 2k and 3.5K rpms where after that its a large pitch noise that is steady, but at lower rpms its a rotational nouns. That's the best I can describe it. Please help.
I agree, brake pads are worn and need replacement.
Answers: Sounds like the brake pad are gone and the wear sensor is rubbing the rotor.
