I bought a car and be told it had trash within the fuel tank....it would not be bothersome as long as gas be kept above a quarter of a tank...kept gas even there...but lately had a hitch weld to bumper of car...when they weld it they beat it near a sledge hammer....after that coup¨¦ would not start and run....after sitting for a few days car started fine...but in a minute when you try to drive it down the road, and let stale the gas for any reason, you own to shut off the sports car and restart it......and it will run perfectly until you touch the brakes, or permit off the gas again....I did revision the fuel filter...what else should I do?
Answers: drop the gas tank & lug it to a local radiator repair shop, most of them will clean and stamp gastanks. its not that hard to lug off a gastank they usually single have 2 bolts & straps holding them , some cars hold a hole in the trunk so you can disconnect the wires & hoses on others you disconnect them after you drop the reservoir down a little.
There are fuel filter in the cistern too--you cannot see them--anyway the junk is adjectives mixed up and disturbed so it is getting to the engine and causing trouble. I would suggest the removal and cleaning. Some money to do but cheaper than the despoil that it can do to your motor. You can't get away from doing this so acquire to a shop and let them do it. There is hose and rust and scale within the tank--it can ruin a motor in a flash--or even clog the fuel lines so discouraging they will need to be replaced---MORE money !!
