it was raining alot here in AZ today...so i drove through a wide puddle of water.and when i came out of it .my vehicle was smoking.im not sure if it was from the tires or from below my hood.i think it was from the tires though...so i thought it be strange so i kept going through puddles and it stopped after the 3rd time..what does this mean? is it serious or just steam from the hot brakes?
gratefulness! it could be as serious as water getting inside of your engine ... or just the steam from the outside when hose down touched the hot engine.
better get it checked.
Like everyone else said, most likely brakes & exhaust. Not an direct problem to be concerned about, but don't be surprised if your brake rotors begin to warp prematurely and call for replacement earlier than usual. You'll start to notice this next to vibration in the brakes/brake pedal when applying brake at glorious speeds, and as it becomes more serious it will be noticeable at lower speeds or near harder braking.
Steam from brakes, muffler, catalytic converter.
steam from river hitting exhaust
Answers: from what your saying here it sounds like when you be going through the puddles the cold water has get to your brake pads or disk brakes and just simply created a steam form the hot brake pad / disks and cold water
nothing to verbs about unless it continues when you are not going through a puddel then you should shift to a garage and see what they say
hope it helped!
=D
Steam from brakes, muffler, catalytic converter.
What color be it? Steam is mostly white. If it's another color, then something was probable burning. And any smoke other than steam coming from a car is a sign of problems. There shouldn't be much steam any, unless it's extremely cold.
