I was driving in the evening, I notice my lights gettting dimmer and then the brake indicator light come on and the car stopped. There was a strange smell coming from the bonnet (like something burning) but adjectives looked alright. I let the car cool and after started again. Lots and lots of smoke came from the exhaust pipe, the drove for a little while previously then car stopped again. I am going to the garage tomorrow, but does anyone give attention to this is a battery problem or worse?
Could be alternator or converter
alternator or electrics problem.
Been through that one, for me it was bad wires not getting ample spark.
The smoke was the build up of fuel igniting surrounded by the cylinders.
In the end it shorted out the ignition module.
With labor it cost $1100 to repair.
Good luck
That's a tough one, but one thing for sure is that excessive smoke from your exhaust pipe is *not* due to a battery problem.
Answers: battery or altinator ..sounds approaching an older car too. probably obligation to clean injectors

Much worse than just a simple mobile problem. But I couldn't venture a guess. The lots of smoke scares me, and say major engine problem of some kind, but the dimming lights say alternator problem, or short in the wiring, but that wouldn't basis smoke.
