The front passenger window on my '90 Olds 88 will not move about up or go down on any the driver side control or passenger side control. How do I find out if the window motor is unmoving? I took the interior panel off to kind sure the switch was connected and it is. Any other option are also welcome, gratitude.
Answers: if the motor doesn't even click when you press the switch to roll it up or down your motor is burnt out, did you try both switches?, the one on drivers door and on the passenger door?
You can (carefully) use jersey wires off the battery-operated to manually actuate the window motor. Reversing the polarity of the wires will reverse the direction. If the motor works, find a electrical system diagram (auto zone can supply you with one) and check the switch with a volt meter. I similar to to use sewing T-pins to "backprobe" the wires by inserting them into the back of the plug and attaching the voltmeter lead to the t-pins. Doing this allows you to observe the circuit operation short disrupting it, and without hurtful the insulation on any of the wires. My money is on the motor though.
