Car merely starts sometimes!?

So heres the story. I took about a 20 mile highway drive one day and stopped at the guard to get money. came hindmost out and the car would not start. got a skip, took it straight to the mechanic. they tested the battery/alternator. therefore determining that i needed a new alternator...get that changed and it started right up...well the next time i took a longer trip and tried to start it 5-10 mins latter it would turn over but not start. now it seems that it will start respectively time it sits for a long time but not directly after driving it (i.e. after filling up at the gas station) if someone could please abet determine the problem that would be great. and if you need any more information about the problem vacate it in an answer and i will resond. thank you

This is a tough one contained by deed.Your car if newer can hold an electrical problem or fuel.Lets think easy! own you changed your fuel filter? when you add gas,it mixes with sediment within tank and could be clogging filter, also once in awhile you could hold a weak fuel pump or relay. Also on modern cars you have sensors that sense positioning of the cam, your sensor could be unpromising. Unless you are skilled with checking things it is best to have a mechanic use a code reader,as your sports car will store these episodes and will show problems. You can retrieve codes yourself, lookat owners manual and most cars will flash a code after initiallizing your key switch similar to 3 times. Again with newer cars it is best to spend the money to either hook it up to a diagnosis electrical device or replace parts haphazardly-Hope this gives you a clue

Sounds like its vapor locking. Fuel in the fuel column vaporizes and it can't pick up the raw fuel. Check fuel line see if it is close to a grill source like exhaust manifold, or pipe.
If not shift back to the mechanic and explain problem again

My friend tell me my coup¨¦ tires...

Sounds to me like its a battery problem, the object that it starts after it sits for awhile is because the chemical reactions inside the battery produce lately enough electricity after awhile to get it started but if its not long ample it will just try to turn over a few times then eventually nought. Another possibility is your starter could be going, when it doesn't start try banging on it with a sledge hammer and see if it will turn over then.but I doubt that would be it because I don't see how leaving it sit for longer would allow it to turn over after. Well, good luck, cars can be such a pain surrounded by the butt.

Why is my 95 crown vic overheating?

i had equal problem with an older model pontiac 6000 , i terminated up trashing the car, the closest I could come to a solution was that the grease sensor was bad and be keeping the engine off because it thought that there be not enough oil. Or it could own been the temperature sensor gone down properly and thinking that the engine was colder than it was so and so injecting a fuel/air mixture that was to rich for how warm the engine be.

Motor grease 10W-30. What does the numbers...

Answers:    Sounds like vapor lock (moisture contained by the gas line) moisture causes the gasoline to overheat and boil inside the carburetor or fuel pump of a hot engine which stops the flow of fuel, and once the car cools it starts, switching brands of gasoline may abet...also check the cooling system to see if anything is causing the engine to run unusually hot, a bad thermostat or cooling enthusiast.
Since your car is "turning over" I don't think it's the mobile, starter or ignition, but I wouldn't totally rule them out.

How much would it cost to fix...

Information on the year/model of vehicle, and the type of engine (fuel injected versus carb) would be useful. If we assume that the problem is related to the ignition system, then it is possible in that is loose connection to the alternator or the battery. You should also trade name sure that the battery is fully charged and has proper amount of fluid. A mostly-discharged freestyle will sometimes have enough liquid to start a car after sitting awhile.
- In general, I regard it is a good idea to contribute a car a good tuneup when near is not an obvious problem. Sometimes obscure symptoms can be cured by a simple tuneup, or by tightening loose wires/hoses.
