Car won't start up the adjectives approach... Exhaust produces lot of smoke?

When I try to start up my 97 Civic Hatchback it doesn't start up the whole way instead it nice of stalls when my exhaust is suppose to release itself and then when it doesn't release itself my car tries to start up again. After a few minutes of waiting while turning the switch my car finally starts but when I accelerate my coup¨¦ doesn't accelerate smoothly instead it sounds like the smoke from the exhaust stops pushing through and eventually my car's engine stops and I enjoy to repeat the process. Also there is a good amount of black smoke coming out of my exhaust throughout this process. This have been happening for a year presently on and off it usually happens after it rain overnight and sometimes when it snows. I would like to know what the problem is and what might be the best solution before I transport it into a mechanic thank you!

Answers:    It is flooding, getting to much fuel. Sounds crazy but try this. Put your foot flat on the throttle till she starts, should work. Take it in for setting and repair as it is now particularly heavy on fuel consumption.
