Car's overheating, do i hold ample coolant?

I opened up my radiator and didn't see any coolant, but in that was coolant within the overflow tank. if nearby is coolant in the overflow tank(about halfway), does that niggardly my radiator has adequate coolant? and if so does that overflow get recirculated support into the radiator and thru the engine?

Answers:    it could possibly be your thermostat is broken. When your driving your car does it conquer optimum temperature and next overheat? or does it take say aloud 30 mins after driving to overheat? if it overheats quick its probably your thermostat. if you hold coolant in the overflow reservoir you should have coolant within your system. The coolant in the overflow container should circulate back into the radiator. and if you wanna flush the system do it yourself. its soo confident. disconnect the lower hose if you wanna be lazy. goodluck
