On a vehicle with a four converter system and solely one cat is bad, why cant you newly replace the cat that is impossible so long you dont interfere with the location of the o2 sensors? I hear from this supposidly owner of an exhaust shop for 25 years that this is not possible and tamper. My question is why enjoy so many nation done it successfully without comebacks from the CEL and why would they even kind universal cats vehicle specific if they be "illegal"? I am starting to think that my source of owning an exhaust shop is not knowledgeable on this matter.
Answers: yes you can weld on the broad. The reason the guy told you you couldn't is because HE OWNES AND EXHAUST SHOP. He desires your money. If i owned an exhaust shop i would tell you your undamaged system is screwed up and its gonna run about $2500 to fix the piece.
some states require emmisions tests& inspection, they have to stir by what the law say, they can be fined or lose there liscence , but states resembling south carolina , we dont have those law & we can remove the catalitic cnverter all together next to no problem
