My husband drives a 96 Chevy 2500 v8 5.7 liter. He drove it home on Friday and parked it. We left to go out of town for the weekend surrounded by my car. This morning, (tuesday) I got surrounded by the truck to take it to work. When I tried to crank it, it would not turn over. It sounded like it considered necessary to crank but just couldn't make it. My husband come out and tried changing the battery and putting gas surrounded by the truck. Nothing has worked. I took the old mobile to be tested and it is bad but the new freestyle did not do anything for the truck. Any suggestions? We've never had a problem at all next to the truck ever. This is very strange. Also, when my husband was trying to crank the motor a belt broke, but that was successfully replaced.
it sounds close to ignition problem well check your spark plugs and distributor
Answers: Had a tune up lately? Too long without a tune up can motivation it but you should have some warning signs first. Starter solenoid, starter, or fuseable connect to starter also possibilities. Bad connection at starter. Cleaning wire connections at starter can sometimes fix. Smack the starter next to a hammer and try to crank it. If it starts it means you'll inevitability a starter soon. If the starter is not engaging I would start with a solenoid though.

it sounds like the starter might be stuck...get a sledge hammer and hit it a few times. (don't kill it, just a well-mannered hard tap)
other than that, i would check your fuses.

an alternator or a/c drive pulley may enjoy froze,
if the truck starts with the belt off, simply try to turn adjectives of the driven pulleys to find the frozen one
Good Luck
