I have a 92 ford escort, and I thought the clutch was going doomed to failure. It would slip bad in the top 3 gears, and occasionaly surrounded by the 2nd gear. My friend was looking at it for me and said he though my slave cylinder was fruitless. He said it had black fluid in it. I don't know anything around it. Would my slave cylinder being bad do my clutch to slip like that?
is the clutch pressure plate.
either the slave or the master, will hold constant failure
(meaning in adjectives gears, including the first)
but the first gear don't have enough dragging as the third.
so , the pressure plate touch very good the first .
yes it can, but usually the slave will drip or be wet when doomed to failure. if the resivor has went dry, and grease added to it, the system proabaly has air. usually through regular service, the clutch will try to be grabby or shaky when its going discouraging, but not always. also check the clutch master cylinder on the firewall, see if there is fluid drizzling or running down the firewall at the back of the master cylinder. or inside the car on the drivers side beneath the dash.

Answers: Yes, black fluid is full of metal, but put your foot under clutch pedal and pull it. Self adjuster!
Replace it all if it still slips.

Any saloon mechanics out in that? electronic...
No. The slave cylinder will cause a spongy pedal and shifts will grind if leak. Put the car in 4th gear at a comatose stop. Rev the engine to 3,500 rpm and quickly release the clutch pedal. The motor will kill right away if the clutch is polite. If the rpms just slowly come down and the car scarcely moves, the clutch is bad. You will need a topical clutch disc, pressure plate and release bearing. From the way you describe it, you own already waited too long and will also need to resurface or replace the flywheel. I wouldn't listen to that friend for any more coup¨¦ ideas. No clue.is the clutch pressure plate.
