So any help would be greatly appriciated - I own a 1999 Ford Contour. Last night after an awful snow storm I notice little yellow drops within the snow where I have driven my car. This morning when I get up there be more. My car started, I drove to work because I enjoy to be here - and now Im stressed out that this is something serious....Nothing opens for another 20 minutes so Im calling as soon as they get underway, but for now if anyone see this, and knows anything more or less cars any advice or comments would be awesome! I be told it was probably coolant but that my sports car should be okay for the day while im at work. Thanks!
Answers: Take it to a shop, if you own a leak it's probably a hose. Car cannot stand up to the cold, and sometimes coolant get so cold that it freezes and expands, thus cracking the hose. Usually a cracked hose will run you about $50 to repair seeing as to how a mechanic will try to rip you rotten. If it's a radiator problem then I would be suprised. Don't embezzle his word for it unless he shows you. I got conned into it once and salaried out $640 for the radiator, timing belt, water pump and hoses, when adjectives it was really be my water pump needed replaced and my hose be cracked. So yeah, if it's a radiator, should run $150 so roughly $200 for labor et al. Otherwise don't worry only keep an eye on your temp evaluate, if that goes up, you've get a bad sea pump!
If it is coolant, it could be a bad river pump of a hole in one of the hoses. It wants to be tested by a mechanic. Keep an eye on the coolant level and if you save it full, you should be able to drive it to the repair shop. If it starts spewing the coolant, enjoy it towed.
