I recently took my car into the shop for an unconventional noise comming from my front right. I originally thought it was my struts, but I took it into my mechanic, and he told me it be my ball joint. Cheap fix, however on a 2001 Nissan Altima, he told me the control arm and bubble joint had to be sold as one, and i'm better bad going to a dealership to get it fixed. long story short, the dealership wants 450 to fix a simple entity. Any advice on if I should take it to a different mechanic and risk have to get it messed up, or suck it up and cough up the 450 to a dealership?
