Does a 2005 Honda Civic (30K) require a Transmission & Power Steering flush?

Hi all,

I own Midas did a check on my 30K 2005 Honda Civic. Besides the regular oil adaptation, tire rotation and air filter redeploy, they recommended me to perform a Transmission Flush and a Power Steering Flush, and stated that it is recommended by Honda.

I googled and found that it is NOT recommended to own the car done so, since it if truth be told may hurt the parts and such.

So, my question is: Should I do it?

Thanks!
Hei

As a side data, with Tranmission & steering flush and a rear-brake adjustment, the total bill comes to $513, while if I freshly did an oil transmutation, air filter transfer, tire rotation, the total comes to around $183 (Which is a completely BS, as I was told that it will be around $29.99 when I call. I won't go to Midas anymore. Haa!)

Answers:    Oh hell no.

Don't agree to those midas freaks touch your civic. It takes special honda ATF and does not entail to be flushed. They're also ripping you on the air filter and tire rotation.

The honda automatic box can be drained and refill with 3 qts of the proper fluid, honda recommmends 30k intervals but you can stretch it to 50k if you're not hitting on it. Power steering fluid does not need to be flushed as regularly, honda does not recommend it. They will prolly suck out the resivour with a brake fluid tool and overrun it with crap fluid. Leave it alone if it isnt broken or piercing.

the fast service places approaching midas and jiffy lube dont know anything at all. I would never embezzle anything to them, I change my own grease, if i dont have time I steal it to a dealership. for questions roughly what honda recommends the best place to ask is a honda dealership. If you are a pedal to metal junkie resembling myself then i would do what honda recommend when they recommend it or a few thousand miles sooner. if you drive normal you can usually be ok going over the recommended mileage.
