we were varying a 2 bbl carb over to a 4 bbl and we had bought a fel pro intake many gasket kit. it have the water jacket gaskets. do we entail to put the water jacket on? the 4 bbl carb has a grill riser while the 2 bbl didnt and the old compound had the hose down jackets on. the edelbrock website sell the same tools with instructions that read-Use compound gasket(s) with the expand center ports as supplied in this set or near restrictor assemblies in place as noted. so does anyone know if i can not use the sea jackets because the hole on them is too small to fit over the steam riser. thanks
Answers: I don't know what you scrounging by water jacket. If you have a carb that uses a bake riser (hot air to label the automatic choke work), you need to own an opening contained by the center of the intake gaskets to let exhaust gas flow into one side of the intake and out the other. These gaskets usually come beside two pieces of metal that you can insert to block off the warmness riser if you don't need it depart. If your 4bbl carb has an electric choke next you don't need the roast riser open and you can block it past its sell-by date.
