Answers: yes it has to turn when you crank the motor or you will get no spark to the plugs, verbs the distriburator out and see if the gear is on the bottom of it or has come loose, if the gear is still here and on tight more than likely you hold a broken timing belt.

it should..... if it doesn't you have something wrong... the distributor button is what distributes the spark to the individual cylinders - mandatory to start the vehicle
