I have 93 Toyota T100 truck, 4x4, and I notice there be gas leaking from underneath the bottom right side of the truck , underneath the nouns where you put the gas into the truck.
I be told by a mechanic that it was undemanding to replace this hose as it would just involve gas coming out , but it be simply unclamping the old hose and reclamping the hot one in in attendance.
But I took it to a Toyota dealer and they are very soon telling me that I obligation all 4 gas lines replaced as they are adjectives damaged and are leak??
Does this sound right?
I havent notice anything dripping onto my driveway other than this one nouns where I notice before. And be expecting to pay no more than $100 . Now I hold been told it will be 3 hours labor because they enjoy to remove the gas tank to get hold of the lines in and out. And the total bill will be immediately around $400 with due, labor and everything!!
What would you do?
I was thinking roughly speaking maybe freshly telling them to replace the one rubber hose I saw leakin
If the fuel lines on top of the gas reservoir are at fault it cost more to replace ask the merchant to be specific and show you the damaged or rotten parts. You can transmit if the parts are expensive by looking for them online.
If you have to reimburse inspect the broken part. Honest mechanics will show it to you cheerfully.
You can also take it to a third garage that would put it on a hoist and show you the problem.
As unreasonable as this seems, it is pretty much right on. All of the fuel lines are probably alike age, and logic would indicate that they would all be int he same condition.
There is little sense contained by replacing only one procession, then 2 or 3 months next, spend the same labor to replace another. Spend the cost of the labor one time, and replace everything compulsory now, consequently it is done.
If they replace only the one smudge, the labor will still be about impossible to tell apart, and all you would amass would be the cost of the other three hoses.
It feels similar to you're getting stabbed, but they are doing you a favor of sorts.
Answers: Where do you live? On a 1993 truck I would replace adjectives of the lines only if it see winter driving in an nouns that has road saline constantly. Because that is 15 years of wear one hose go eventually the others will too. I would to make sure I would not hold to go through it again beside another hose.
I concur it would be logical to replace adjectives lines at the same time
