Ectrical repairs?

Just purchased 9/14. Left turn signal works but right one won't also trunk auto close inop. Looks and runs great even with minor rust and these coat pulling electrical problems. Like to keep her if I could and find her back to top pit condition. Just can't be saddled near thousands of dollars worth of electrical repair costs. So I'm asking for some good counsel for diy projects from those that have already be there. Thanks

Answers:    Hi
Like Dodgeman say you will need a honest manual. One item on your side though with this extraordinary car. During those years, Caddillac used a process call point to point wiring. What this method is unlike a number of cars immediately that have a leading wiring trunk which carry signals for multiple systems, caddy wires are point to point meaning that the cessation device is hardwired to the power source. On your signals, do the signal on the dash come on, are or your comments singular talking going on for the outside light? The best means of access to approach ( based upon my exp beside caddys) is to chase down where the electricity should be flowing surrounded by that circuit. For instance in your shield
1 Does the dash restrained come on? yes / no
If yes, proceed to the flasher
If no you mat have a switch problem within the steering column
2 Does the flasher click? yes / no
yes flasher is good no flasher is inop
3 Does the side flea market cornering light come on? yes no
If yes this medium current is flowing to at least that hurricane lantern
If no, check wiring primary to that light
4 Repeat Q3 but for the flashing signal street lamp

In summary it will be a step by step process for diagnosis. Believe or not, this improved the techs capability to diagnose a problem, you just hold to ask youself questions contained by the process
If you need back let me know I'll supply my email address

you need to jump and get a solid good repair guide on that one,the Haynes ones are the best, they are also really good for electrical work ,i know what you niggardly cost to repair it could easily be more than the motor is worth,if you ,ll get a appropriate repair manual though it will step you through some pretty complicated repairs,a lot of family use them now, their worth the 15 bucks they cost, the first commission you use it on will pay for it,dutiful luck on it,i hope you get it adjectives straitened out.
