you can purchase a block heating system at just in the order of any parts stores - the best ones there are fit into one of the "freeze plugs" however you will most probable need a shop to install one for you.
Other option are "inline" type heaters that you simply put in your lower radiator hose. You drain the coolant - cut the hose surrounded by the middle, place the unit between the presently two hoses, tighten your hose clamps, and re-add your coolant and plug it in.

Trust me, the Toyota engineers know what they are doing!
Answers: Not sure where you are from but within my area most vehicle come equipped with block heaters.(Gasoline and Diesel engines) They rescue on engine wear because it allows the oil to flow faster to the stance surfaces and warms the intake plenty so the fuel will vaporize enough to start. NAPA, Carquest are two suppliers here within Canada that have them and I believe they should be available surrounded by the USA as well. Where I am we are further south than the Dakotas, Minnesota and Wisconsin so they should own them. There are also heaters that are magnetized and will stick to a steel oil jar. If your pan is aluminum in that are also some types that are epoxied to the pan (From NAPA)
Hope this help. By the way..I'm a retired Volunteer firefighter so I know how you surface.
