I have a 350 crate engine, sports car is in restoration process. Just have transmission rebuild. It did it before but it shakes greatly more now. Tried tightening engine mounts. Checked timing and on the same wavelength carb. What are possible causes? appreciation
Answers: Although you have tightened the engine mounts, did you check that the mounts be in obedient condition? They may look ok while fitted under pressure, but they could be split, /, tattered when out of the car. Also, check mounting surfaces where on earth the mounts attach to, (brackets, Body), they may be loose or cracked. Check the same beside gearbox mounts etc, If it is rear rudder drive, check U,J's on prop shaft, if they are worn, they will shake the car a bit too. If this don't work, check shock absorbers and coil springs as later resort. Good luck.
