After changing my automatic transmission filter and fluid on my 97 explorer, it presently stalls in gear but starts and idles contained by park perfectly. Thanks to the replys from my previous question but immediately i need to know where the TCS is located (specificly) and is it uncomplicated to replace or is there a way to interview it. The transmision shop realy wants to take me for a ride on this one. any thinking would be greatly apreciated

Answers: The solenoid should be located on the valve body, accessible when the pan is sour. I wouldn't replace it until a proper diagnosis has been done beside a scanner. It could be something physically damaged in the nouns causing it to lock-up prematurely.
